Good-Bye Summer

This is a sad but exciting time of year. I think we have seen the end of summer. We hit 90 last week and the kids broke out the slip and slide for one last hoorrah. Fall starts tomorrow and I think we will be lucky if we see the 80's again. I love all the holidays coming up and fall is a great season, but there is just something magical about summer. Its carefree, spontaneous and best of all WARM. Here are a few pictures of some of my favorite summer moments that didn't make it on the blog in the past.

I love these flower pots I found at Robert's in Cedar while shopping with the girls, they were such a good deal too.

We have some great people and awesome kids in our neighborhood, one of my kids favorite things about summer is being able to stay out all night and play with their friends. This was a little show Bailey and a couple of the older girls had set up for the little kids to watch. I think it was about 10:00 when I took this picture. Gotta love summer.

This was just a fun day at the park

This was one of my very favorite days during the summer. We had met Ryan for lunch in Eagle and then found this little water park. The girls had so much fun they played forever got soaking wet, and laughed and laughed. Ellie stood over one these water towers and let it shoot up her shirt it was hilarious. Logan just chilled in his seat, I read my book and just sat and enjoyed the moment. Something I forget to do quite often.

4 Months Old

I can't believe it has already been for months since Logan came to our family, but I can't imagine life without him he has been so much fun. He is such a good boy. He loves getting his little toys, kicking off all of his blankets, and making his sisters laugh. He his close to rolling over, and took a bath in the big tub this weekend which I think his sisters liked just as much as he did. We love our Logey boy.

These Aggies jammies are adorable on him, I know I should not break these out until basketball season but for fear that they won't fit then I guess we will pretend we don't know how bad Aggie football is.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN

Happy 35th to Ryan. Our neighbor Noah has a b-day tomorrow so we have had birthday fun on our street all weekend. The girls went to a b-day party for Noah yesterday so we were able to out dinner to Goodwood to celebrate Ryan's day. Today we made dinner, Ryan's favorite, steak and potatoes. I made banana cake for desert, also his favorite. For Noah's b-day party they rented a jumping castle that they got to keep all weekend so tonight a few adults got together for cake and treats while the kids jumped their little hearts out. It was a fun weekend. I hope Ryan enjoyed it, but with good food and lots a football he is a pretty easy guy to please. 35 isn't too old right?? One kid in my primary class guessed that he was 100 today so 35 is sounded pretty good and another little girl couldn't believe he was as old as her mom (I teach Bailey's class) agh to be 7 again.

Mother of the Year

I am only making this post so if Logan does have some sort of permanent injury he can refer back to this for the exact date that I let him fall on his head!! He fell from our bathroom counter today onto the floor. I told the girls to watch him while I ran down to get their breakfast and then they could eat while I bathed him. Well, Bay got distracted and wanted to know what was for lunch and Ellie's tummy was just so hungry..........so result......Logan on the floor of the bathroom. Yep I am great!! I can not be mad at the girls because they are children I am suppose to be a responsible adult. I know it happens to everyone and I shouldn't beat myself up about it but I still feel horrible and I am still up at 2:00 a.m. watching him sleep for fear that he may suddenly have some ill effect after 17 hours, stranger things have happened, I am convinced he is going to fine (I think) the doctor thought so and he is acting like his perfect normal self. I am mad at myself for ignoring that prompting that I always pray I will get, well I got it and I ignored it, lovely! Well I guess my mother of the year award will be taken away yet again. I am so very grateful for a healthy and resilient baby.

Freezer = Extra Storage + Hours of Fun

We got a new freezer this week. We have been needing one for a while. It is just nice to have the extra storage plus I have a lot of "extra milk" around these days that needs a home. It fits great in the garage. But more importantly the box has provided hours of entertainment for the girls and a lot of kids in the neighborhood. They spent most of the day in it yesterday decorating it with tissue paper, cutting out doors and windows, coloring the inside making it look fabulous. They spent a lot of time in it today after church too. Bay drew a TV on the wall today and found an old remote we had laying around to use in it. So if you need a new freezer you may want to save the box and wrap it up for Christmas : )

Labor Day in Heber

We spent Labor Day weekend at my sisters in Heber City. It was a nice relaxing weekend and the kids had lots of fun playing with Drew. The weekend consisted of some of the usual golfing and shopping but I love the Park City outlets so that made the shopping more fun. It was also Swiss Days in Midway which is a big yearly celebration for the settlement of Midway. It was fun to see all the hype we also ate at an awesome Mexican place there. Bailey got stung by a wasp but other than that it was great. I swear the girls gets stung every summer, poor thing. Thanks to Jenn, Dean and Drew we had a great time.

Jenn was awesome that day she look 3rd place in a 10K that morning, she took 2nd a month ago in a 5K she is making her place in the running world of the Heber valley. Yea Jenn.

I didn't get any pictures of Melly she must of been dogging out, but she looks cute with her little belly and we are excited to find out what she is having next week.

It was a great way to end the summer. I can't believe fall is upon us. I love fall but do not enjoy winter so that just puts a damper on fall, knowing that winter is one its way too. Oh well, enjoy fall while it lasts.

First Day of School

The girls started school today, Bailey in 2nd grade and Ellie in 4 yr. preschool (that's what she calls it). Bailey is going to a brand new school. It is very nice but they still had a few kinks to work out today. The bus schedule was a nightmare I am glad that I took her this morning and I should have picked her up, seeing that she got put on the wrong bus after school. She went on the bus that went into the sub-division right next to ours. Once all of the other kids got off, she told the bus driver none of those were her stop and told him how to get to her stop from last year. She wasn't at all concerned, I on the other hand was freaking out but it all ended up fine. She had a great day, loved all of the accommodations of her new school. Hopefully a few more kinks will get out worked out tomorrow. Ellie loved her class and said that her teacher, Ms. Heidi, is SO funny. She loved learning to sing her new bubble song. I think they are both in for a great year. It was pretty quiet here this morning but I did get a lot done. I think being back on a schedule is going to be good for all of us.
