Firsts

I stole this blog title from my friend Sarah, but I thought it was fitting for a few of the things that have been going on lately. Logan surpassed the 5 month mark this past week. He is getting so big, he is rolling over (he has been doing this since the first of the month, I am just bad at posting), he is eating cereal (which he loves), loves to be outside and is quick to give smiles. He is still such a joy.

Ellie conquered the training wheel hurdle this past week, all it took was her 2 year old cousin Drew to do it first. We have been working with her for about a month and some of the big kids in the neighborhood rode her bike and bent the training wheels so pretty much she had to learn how to ride it without. She looks pretty grown up out there riding it up and down the side walk. She still has a little mastering to do but I think she is well on her way to keeping up with the big kids.

Bailey scored her first goal of the season in their last game yesterday. She has come so close a few times and finally got one. She has really gotten better at soccer this year, her coaches are good and starting to really teach them the positions and how to pass. She has been playing great on offense, defense and goalie (Ryan and I both cringe a little every time they put her in there, not because we don't think she can do it, she is just usually the smallest one and can't kick it or throw it overly far, but she does great. A few get by her and she feels bad about it, but then I tell her how many she stopped and that usually makes her feel better). She runs really fast which is fun to watch, Ryan of course think she gets this from him and I of course remind him that there is a little speed in my genes too :) It was a great season.

Family Comes to Town

My parents and sisters with their families came to visit us this weekend. The weather was perfect and we fit in a lot of fun activities. We met at the zoo on Friday, our zoo just got giraffes and I have been wanting to take the kids to see them. I picked Bay up from school a little early so we would have plenty of time to see everything. I am really not much of a zoo person, but I really loved seeing the giraffes, it was amazing to be that close to them, a very cool animal. Bailey has really been wanting to see them and she was SO excited, she loved it. Ellie and Drew had fun running around together and enjoying the beautiful day. It was the perfect start to a great weekend.

Saturday we went to Bailey's soccer game, which was a great game to watch, they played really well. After we went to the Corn Maize/Pumpkin Patch, it was really crowded due to the great weather, so we just let the kids play a little and then picked out some pumpkins. I think we will go back another day this week. The MAIZE is the best one in town, if you haven't checked it out yet, you should.

That night we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner to celebrate the fall birthdays in my family. My dad and sisters all of b-days in October. It was delicious as usual and fun to eat good food and hang out with everyone.

The kids had a blast with Drew and their aunts, uncles and grandparents. We love when you come to visit us, come back again soon.

Kids Activities

Fall brings lots of fun activities with it. Bailey has been playing soccer which she has really been enjoying. She has a great coach and fun girls on her team. Her team is called the Tigers, it has been fun to watch. We are hoping that our SNOWY day (yes I said snow, not happy) won't cancel games tomorrow.

Ellie went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch this week. It was pretty cold, but he still had a good time. She got to pick her own pumpkin and go on a hayride and through the corn maze. I loved the pumpkin that she picked, she did a great job. They got to wear shirts with their pre-school name on them, they had to wear them over their jackets because it was so cold. It warmed up a little later for another photo. Logan did well in his first cold weather experience, he is always such a trooper.

The first few days of the week were nice so Logan got to sport his summer hat while we enjoyed some time outside, the next day he got to sport his winter hat while we were at the pumpkin patch and running around in the cold weather. Looks pretty cute in both!

Autumn Time

This is a really fun time of year. We have still been enjoying nice weather and been able to play outside, I hope we are able to enjoy some more great fall weather. Here are a few of the things we have been up to lately.

Kami and Dave grew tomatoes, peppers and a lot of of other great stuff in their garden this year. It all was ripe at the same time and Kami wanted to make salsa so I offered my assistance. It was a fun afternoon and the end results were pretty tasty. We made it our own with a little more of this and that I am excited to have salsa for the next few months

Last Friday the weather was so nice and the men were all late getting home from work, and no one had dinner ready. We decided we would all just order pizza and hang out in the front yard together. It was a lot of fun. The kids had a blast eating with their friends and being able to stay out and play. The moms of course loved no cooking or dishes. It was a great time.

We had a BBQ on Sunday so that we could continue to enjoy the nice weather. I was making Macaroni Salad and Logan decided we wanted to help. He loves grabbing at everything lately. It is usually my hair but this time he got the spoon.

This past weekend Kami had the great idea of doing a neighborhood movie. Dave got a projector from work and they made a big screen with a blanket. All of the neighbors and a few people from the ward came to watch Alvin and Chipmunks. My kids loved it. I hope we have a new tradition on our hands.

The girls are still loving school they get excited to go, which always makes getting out the door a little easier. This is just a cute picture of them before we headed out the door one day. The picture of Logan is of him sporting the signature red sweatshirt. It was a little cool the other night while the kids were outside playing so I put this sweatshirt on Logan. It use to be Bailey's, Ryan bought it for her the Christmas I was pregnant with her and we didn't know if she was a girl or a boy. Our girls and Drew have all worn it. Love that we can just keep passing it on.

Good-Bye Summer

This is a sad but exciting time of year. I think we have seen the end of summer. We hit 90 last week and the kids broke out the slip and slide for one last hoorrah. Fall starts tomorrow and I think we will be lucky if we see the 80's again. I love all the holidays coming up and fall is a great season, but there is just something magical about summer. Its carefree, spontaneous and best of all WARM. Here are a few pictures of some of my favorite summer moments that didn't make it on the blog in the past.

We have some great people and awesome kids in our neighborhood, one of my kids favorite things about summer is being able to stay out all night and play with their friends. This was a little show Bailey and a couple of the older girls had set up for the little kids to watch. I think it was about 10:00 when I took this picture. Gotta love summer.

This was just a fun day at the park

This was one of my very favorite days during the summer. We had met Ryan for lunch in Eagle and then found this little water park. The girls had so much fun they played forever got soaking wet, and laughed and laughed. Ellie stood over one these water towers and let it shoot up her shirt it was hilarious. Logan just chilled in his seat, I read my book and just sat and enjoyed the moment. Something I forget to do quite often.

4 Months Old

I can't believe it has already been for months since Logan came to our family, but I can't imagine life without him he has been so much fun. He is such a good boy. He loves getting his little toys, kicking off all of his blankets, and making his sisters laugh. He his close to rolling over, and took a bath in the big tub this weekend which I think his sisters liked just as much as he did. We love our Logey boy.

These Aggies jammies are adorable on him, I know I should not break these out until basketball season but for fear that they won't fit then I guess we will pretend we don't know how bad Aggie football is.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN

Happy 35th to Ryan. Our neighbor Noah has a b-day tomorrow so we have had birthday fun on our street all weekend. The girls went to a b-day party for Noah yesterday so we were able to out dinner to Goodwood to celebrate Ryan's day. Today we made dinner, Ryan's favorite, steak and potatoes. I made banana cake for desert, also his favorite. For Noah's b-day party they rented a jumping castle that they got to keep all weekend so tonight a few adults got together for cake and treats while the kids jumped their little hearts out. It was a fun weekend. I hope Ryan enjoyed it, but with good food and lots a football he is a pretty easy guy to please. 35 isn't too old right?? One kid in my primary class guessed that he was 100 today so 35 is sounded pretty good and another little girl couldn't believe he was as old as her mom (I teach Bailey's class) agh to be 7 again.
