Student of the Month

This week Bailey was selected as one of the Students of the Month from her class. On Friday they had a little assembly to recognize the students. Her teacher said that she always has a positive attitude and is very friendly and polite to her classmates. He also said that she has a great laugh. Way to go Bay!! I am happy things are going so well for her this year, and that she has a really fun teacher. When the year started I was little worried since her best friend went to a different school and she has a "boy" teacher, but so far things have been going very well. She has made some new friends and gets along great with her teacher. Keep up the good work Bailey!

Fall Fun

Last week the weather was really nice so we went the pumpkin patch for family night. Some friends in our ward, The Shaner's, invited us to go with them. Bailey and Sariah are great friends and we really enjoy their family. It was a great night and the kids had a lot of fun picking out pumpkins, riding the hayride and getting mini donuts. They had a mini straw maize that the kids ran through over and over. It was another great night of fall fun.

Over the weekend my family came to town. On the agenda was attending Bailey's soccer game, going to the corn maize, and celebrating the fall b-days in our family. We accomplished 2 of the 3, Bay's game got cancelled. It rained all day Thurs. and Fri. so the fields were flooded. It did clear up on Sat. so were able to go the corn maize. My friend Hillary and her husband Jim own a corn maize close by our house, so we went to check it out. It was so much fun and I was totally impressed with the whole operation. Everything was so cute and put together so well. We all had a great time, the corn maize is cut in the shape of a pirate ship, it was fun to try to find our way out. The kids especially had a blast going on the bucking cow ride, playing in the corn box, and the jumping pillow. I am glad the weather got better so we could enjoy the maize.

Like My Trophy???

The end of the soccer season is upon us. Last week Bailey and her team had a little end of season pizza party and received their trophy's. The coach gave all the kids a soccer folder full of fun soccer coloring pages and a certificate, he also said something nice about each kid when he gave them their trophy. He told Bailey that he was proud of her last goal and that she had come a long way since the first game (remember the sobbing). The trophy is a most prized possession right now. She slept with it and snuck it in her backpack to school the next day. It was a good season. We will most likely my playing again in the spring.

Good Weekend Part ????

The girls with cousin Allie ready to play in the rain. Cute kids posing for a photo, Dallin, Bay, Ellie, Allie.

We had a fun weekend. Ryan's brother and his family came to town. We love when they come visit us, the girls always have some much fun. We hung out, ate good food, searched for Tinkerbell costumes and let the girls just play and play. We went to Bailey's soccer game and she scored her very first goal!!! She was so excited. I of course did not have the video going yet, so I didn't record it, but I saw it and she did awesome. They ended up winning the game. We also had our primary program on Sunday, and it turned out really well. I was a little stressed having 9 kids to keep quite on the stand, but they all did really well and all of them remembered their parts. It was a fun weekend. I always love when people come to visit!

Ellie's Field Trip

For preschool last Thursday Ellie went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. They got to ride on a little bus owned by the school, which was one of the highlights, and then spend the morning at the pumpkin patch. It was pretty cold that morning so I decided to send her winter coat seeing that we would be outside the whole time. Well I didn't realize they were going to have to wear matching t-shirts OVER their coats. So as you can see in the photos shes looks like the Michelin man in her puffy coat with the t-shirt over. But she stayed warm so I guess that's all that matters. She got to pick out her own pumpkin, the catch was they had to carry it by themselves, so they couldn't pick biggest pumpkin in the patch. She got a good one though, we had to focus hard on finding one that wasn't to dirty or pokey on the top. I was glad I could be there to watch her have so much fun.

Inspirational and Funny Phrases.......

Inspirational phrases came from General Conference. I love these weekends I truly enjoy listening to conference, it always makes me vow to be better. I hope I can put the thoughts into action.

Bailey didn't have school on Thursday and Friday so we were together as a family a lot this weekend. It was nice, as we were putting them to bed tonight and I said the weekend was over, Bailey said "it has been a great weekend." She did have fun, Ellie still had school on Thurs. so Bailey and I went to breakfast together after we dropped her off. It was nice to have some time with her, I still miss her when she is gone all day. Although........after 4 days home, school will be nice tomorrow. She played great in her soccer game on Sat. and they finally won a game. She and one of her teammates scored a goal together. It was freezing but still very fun to watch. Her latest phrase that always has Ryan and I snickering behind our hands is "basepts" meant to be except........ "everyone had fun at soccer today basepts Nicole because she got hurt." We do kindly tell her it is except but she hasn't kicked the habit yet and it is hilarious.

Ellie had fun with Bailey here all weekend. She wasn't too happy that we went to breaksfast without her, but I kindly reminded her that she always gets to get a churro at Costco when Bailey is at school. Last night while we were putting them to bed they were talking about when we went to the zoo, this proceeded into a conversation about fish sticks and Bailey reminded us that I lied to her about them saying they were chicken nuggets and they were not, Bailey said "I do not like fish food." Ellie said "yes you do Bailey you love goldfish." Ellie also woke us up this morning to tell us that "my nose is broken I can't breath out of this side see, (blow, blow)" Ryan then taught her how to role over to let it drain out, she was very pleased with this. She told us later that it wasn't broken anymore. She also tells me that I am interrupting her all the time, usually she is arguing with me about something I have told her no about, and as she is pleading her case or throwing her fit and I tell her to stop, she informs me that I am interrupting and that she can't think of her thoughts now. Gotta give her props for trying!

Anyway.....probably stories that you had to be here for, but none the less stuff that I wanted to remember them saying. Well, back to reading New Moon................

Ellie's First Day of Preschool (Finally)

Ellie finally got into preschool. Her first day was today. She was pretty excited. She has been on the waiting list since March. They have lunch there so she was really excited to take her Tinker Bell lunch box. There is another Ellie in her class and they are both Ellie P. so at preschool she is Ellie Jo. I asked her if she was okay with this and she agreed. Tonight Ryan called her Ellie Jo and she said "Dad only Miss Kimberlee (her teacher) can call me that." She said her favorite part of the day was lunch, not to surprising coming from Ellie. She said that she was excited to go back on Thursday. I guess that is a good sign. It is a Christian preschool, and today a candy bar came up missing so they had a little talk about not telling lies, so all in all I think it was a good day. I hope things continue to go well.
